Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
I work in the kitchen of mcdonalds, my usual work is assembling food, and cooking the meat and chicken.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I am not a massive fan of this programme, however that is because of a lack of involvement from my store, and not the lifetime team. I think apprenticeships are a great opportunity to improvr your skills and knowledge

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
I have improved my social skills since working at mcdonalds and starting my apprenticeship, it has put me in positions outside of my comfort zone because I can be quite shy around new people, however I am getting better with these uncomfortable situations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think that the apprenticeship programme is very well structured as there is specific dates that e learning needs to be completed by, and it is very clear about how and when you need everything to be done by
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I do not recieve much support from my employer regarding the apprenticeship, which I believe to be why I am still doing the apprenticeship, as I've needed longer to get through all of the e learning in my own time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My training provider helps me alot, especially my coach gemma, she's always happy to help me out and explain things to me if I email her with a question
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think this helps me perform better because I am more confident with the rules about contamination and allergies
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
As far as i am aware, there is a yearly skydive for charity which a select few people from UK mcdonalds stores get to participate in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think for young people mcdonalds is a brilliant first job as it teaches you to work with a team and in stressful situations
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Push yourself to learn different stations, not only will this make you more knowledgeable and comfortable at work, it will make your shifts more enjoyable as you wont be doing the same thing every day
