Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Maintaining machines that make the medicines for patients. Responding to breakdowns and helping improve the running of the machines and processes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Lots! The work is always varied and the teams you work in are extremely welcoming and happy to pass on knowledge. They are also a good laugh and always try to help you with anything you are struggling with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Lots, too many to count. I came into the apprenticeship with very little engineering experience, however it was no issue. All the technicians are more than happy to pass on knowledge. The main 3 areas that I have learnt are mechanical, electrical and instrumental engineering.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
During the apprenticeship you move around different placements experiencing all of the areas on site. There is a rota which is loosely followed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots! Both management and the early careers team are always there to help and support you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Support from college liaison officer really helpful and always has your back.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
PEO and EPA is helpful for the job we do however HNC/D doesnt have much crossover.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Lots of opportunities available and no pressure to attend if you do not wish.
