Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I run shifts for my business managing labour costs while trying to strive for excellent performance. I also manage money doing bank deposits and cashing up tills.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme as I get chances to learn more about different skills required to excel in my role. It also gives me chances t see other perspectives and discuss how I can make a greater impact at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned lots about developing emotional intelligence to deal with different situations. I have also learned about how to work on performance and dealing with underperforming whilst setting out plans for continuous improvement for the future.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, I have a set out plan for learning from my coach showing me OTJT to work through and how to further advance my skills. These are all planned out to match and link with the assignments I need to complete.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive some support from my employer giving me time needed and the chance to learn more through the course and OFJT but I am not given enough time with my in store mentor to progress further.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I am always supported by my coach through continuous learning sessions and reviews. I have had a plan set out and keep in regular contact to keep up to date and receive some support if required.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I am taught a lot about how to be a better manager and then how to apply the knowledge and use emotional intelligence better which gives me a greater understanding and ability to perform better. The extra knowledge especially around people can help me deal with tougher conversations and situations easier.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes my organisation have organised football events for different stores to attended along with some of our delivery couriers to build a better relationship with them and have fun outside of work.

Yes
Why?
I believe it is a good job that can teach you a lot about working as a team and communicating effectively with others. It also teaches you how to be efficient and handle stress at times.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
I would tell them to try and be confident to get to know other people and communicate with others. Also to make sure they always speak up to managers if they have any issues or concerns as often these can be sorted easily for everyone’s benefit.
