H/L QA Apprentice Review

The HL QA Programme consists of travelling around the whole business in each Quality Function. Each day looks different because of the diverse work QA performs. I could be inspecting a ship one day and Auditing a team on their processes another.

I am only the 2nd year-group in the QA programme, so have inputted a lot of improvements to make things smoother for future apprentices, that being said, my programme is still very good and the QA Apprentice Manager is brilliant and supportive. In terms of the overall Babcock apprenticeship, there is excellent structure and i'm not sure anything else could be included to add value.

My boss is very supportive and will back us on anything. She is also very knowledgeable which means she can help us as a specialist too. Babcock's early careers team is also very devoted and committed to achieving great results.

I would prefer more support on my project based assessment prep, but other than that it has been pretty good.

(Other than on the job learning) My training provider has taught me all the fundamentals of QA. It has fed into my day to day work seamlessly and actually helped Quality Professionals step back and bring things back to basics when I have suggested it.

Working hours are great, you earn while you learn, its generally a nice place to work and the people tend to be decent as we adhere to the 6 Principles, be kind, courageous, collaborative, curious, think outcomes, own and deliver. Pay is great for the apprentices too and the opportunities are insane if you put the work in.
