Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Processing technical information supplied by engineers and designers to produce documentation for a platform
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the program reasonably well, there are areas where there is room for improvement which would make the overall experience more enjoyable and I believe that the company is committed to making those changes

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Developed role specific skills to carry out the functions of the position

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There appears to be a clear structure, I have been provided with information which details the progression of my apprenticeship through to its completion.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive an acceptable amount of support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The college is struggling, it is evidenced in their most recent Ofsted report and the issues go further than identified within the report published to the Ofsted website, It has a known and significant impact on the quality of learning and support I receive from the training provider.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Within the scheme, the level 2 failed to deliver a foundational understanding of manufacturing engineering, the training provider held my personal progression behind for 3.5 months of the 8 months of learning because I was not at pace with the rest of the class. The level 3 has been delivered inconsistently and without clear structure and progression, lecturers were not always able to control a number of students within the class and it has had a clear and profound effect on the benefits of the qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are things such as apprentice councils and STEM ambassador events to be involved in, I haven't been involved in such events; this is due to personal financial reasons requiring employment outside of the apprenticeship to ensure I have sufficient to provide for my basic needs.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
While there are shortcomings most notably with the poor quality of learning from the training provider, I would and have recommended to my friends that they pursue a career with BAE as the actual working side of the apprenticeship is very enjoyable.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Be who you are. Never pretend to be something you're not. Be honest, open, and clear about what you are looking for. If you are unsure, it is not the responsibility of anyone besides yourself to answer those questions.
