Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Currently I am in the skills development centre (SDC) and I am completing knowledge questions and practical work. This is expected to last up till july-september where I will then transfer out to the business and work in the dockyard on ship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme and the content but sometimes it can be slow moving with not a lot to complete.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt new knowledge and some new skills but i have mostly been devloping on existing skills i already have.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
When we are completing working it is well structured and clear on what we are learning and the task we need to do however there is often a lot of wasted downtime with no work to complete so it isn't very well organised in that aspect as we sometimes will go a while before starting new work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Any support i have required has been met by various parts of the buiness.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
My training provider has taught subjects well and provided any needed information and guidance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I believe on the knowledge side of things it can be useful however i think there should be more practical exercises in place because a lot of people wont actually physically see or work on some assembly's and parts until they transfer out into the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There has been a couple offered to us but not very frequently so i am not very aware of what they are and when they take place or how to apply.
