Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Working on mechanical systems, fitting, maintaining and servicing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Mostly enjoy my programme, however, there is a lot of downtime and it does not feel as though there is always a clear structure to our learning. Scheduling changes are very frequent which does not help and there is not always a plan to follow. Some of the practical aspects are really good, I just want to spend more time doing practical things as opposed to classroom time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
Developed a working knowledge of engines and learnt material science.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
There is a lot of downtime and it does not feel as though there is always a clear structure to our learning. There are constant changes to units and timings which I do understand is sometimes out of our skills coaches hands. Scheduling changes are very frequent which does not help and there is not always a plan to follow. Would be nice to have a clear structure to follow in the first year so we know what is coming up.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I do feel very supported by my employer and feel as though I could reach out to them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Plenty of support is provided.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Somewhat, however, more practical experience is needed on the systems we will be working on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in.
