Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a solicitor apprentice and each day is different. I help the solicitors with day-to-day running of matters, this can be legal research, drafting documents, attending client calls, helping with organising events, billing, attending court, drafting court documents, emails, phone calls etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme, it has allowed me to be involved in so many new experiences and has taught me so much!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so many new skills. The main ones being confidence, drafting skills, communication, professionalism, legal knowledge, analysing information, case management, commercial awareness and advocacy skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised and structed. We know when our study days are, we know what we are entitled to with study leave. The University keep our employer very well informed on progress etc and nothing seems 'last minute'.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We received a lot of support. I receive extra time in exams and my employer have been so great with asking if I need any extra support/programmes to hep me on my laptop etc. We have very regular check-ins and I feel very comfortable in raising any issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We receive a lot of support as we can book 1-2-1 drop ins for however frequent we would like but we also have check-ins often with our skills coach. The lecturers are quick to respond to any queries too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is very helpful for my role and for me to perform better as it allows me to put my knowledge into real life scenarios.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have a lot of extra activities. These include 'pay-day' drinks (and non-alcohol ones), we have footballs and netballs teams, monthly yoga, regular client events, charity networks, women's network and a lot more such as Muslim networks! We also have a yearly football worldcup event hold between all of the offices.
