I enjoy my current placement, however I was very lucky to get this long term. If I had not been lucky, I would not have enjoyed the programme

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Not well at all. I was placed in random departments that I did not enjoy. I was expected to change my department to something I would enjoy however there was no information about any other departments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have never particularly required support, when I have, it has felt like a battle.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

University is abysmal. I think the support given by the uni is not the issue.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Not particularly in my role, however, in other roles I have done it has definitely helped.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Depends on your department. My department plays football but this is the only one I know of that does.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
After you have finished your apprenticeship, the company looks after its workers very well and it is a great place to work. During the apprenticeship, it feels more like you're treated as a school child.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Do a shorter apprenticeship (craft or technician) find out as much info as you can about different places to work and go and experience them. Make sure you end up somewhere that you enjoy.
