Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently working in F-35 Reliability & Maintainability. Very complex and Excel-heavy placement. Team is extremely supportive and friendly. We work with failures or faults with the aircraft and provide information back to LM.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy it a lot. The university side of things aren't the best. I do not like the building and think the lectures could be much better. Work side of things are great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Networking has been developed significantly. Excel skills have been put to the test and improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Organised but definitely could be more.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support, whether from line managers, EDAS managers, skills coaches, other peers, graduates, employees of BAE, etc.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There is support but I think the lectures need to be better so many wouldn't require as much support as they do. I am naturally academic and also come straight from A-Levels where most of the content is already covered so it hasn't affected me too much yet.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Semi well. Depends on the placement. My one is excel heavy and we don't cover the same sort of commands or filtering in uni.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Social events are common. Networking events are also around.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Supportive and friendly work place. Good environment and good people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Your academics don't define you. It is more importance that you are a hard-working and ambitious individual instead. Must support people around you and be a team player. Definitely learn the BAE values and possibly familiarise yourself with the STAR method.
