Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working with experienced project professionals on a series of different programmes such as warship maintenance, deep refits and new dockyard projects. Looking at risk registers, financial controls, stakeholder management and other PM skillsets.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Hugely, the company is full of great people who put a large emphasis on early careers. The work is tangible, varied and engaging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, a plethora of new project management skills as well as soft skills / professional expectations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The BAE side of the programme is incredible well structured and well supported by and early careers team. The university / degree side, led by Cumbria University, is dreadfully ill-structured and not well delivered.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A great amount. There is real buy-in from the company and lots of resources across the company to assist.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
BAE side - a large amount, as they have had the course in its current form for quite a few years. Cumbria University side - not a good amount. Feedback is not well received.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Project management is very varied within each project. The theory is a useful basis to then build up upon.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are stretch projects you can get involved in. Additionally you have your work colleagues and apprentices so two different groups to socialise with.
