Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am responsible for assisting with planning launches/store openings across 3 brands. I help the team come up with launch material for counters in store and what animations we will be using to attract customers. I put together plans for these launches and openings to share with the wider teams to ensure a successful launch.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Being part of a team of two on VM, I was trusted with a lot of responsibility from the beginning. I found this extremely valuable as it meant I was able to learn how to take on my role very quickly and efficiently.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The team I worked for was like being part of a family. We all got on really well and shared the same values and goals, personal and work related. We all had the same achievements in mind for the business which helped us to work really well together.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my placement. It taught me so much about the Beauty industry and the skills it takes to be a successful team member. It also opened my eyes to the various different responsibilities there are working on visual merchandising and how the role is so important to the success of the wider business.

What advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal
Get your applications in early! It's a very sought after company to work for as their opportunities are incomparable to a lot of other companies offering placements. Expect to be busy from the get go as it is extremely fast paced and there is a lot to learn. Make the most of it and say yes to every opportunity that gets thrown your way!
