Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my supply chain practitioner apprenticeship I am getting to experience a few different roles within the repairs supply chain for aircraft. My current placement is with Inventory Forecasting and Planning. My day to day can be quite varied. At times I am involved in meetings with different internal and external stakeholders. As well as getting lots of opportunities to shadow experience colleagues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

So far I have really enjoy my programme. This is because I have found it very interactive, involved and varied. Another reason for this is because whenever I have had a concern or suggestions they have been taken onboard. This has helped me to feel more involved with my own experiences.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

So far this role has helped me to develop my communication and team working skills. Another skill I have continually be developing has been my IT skills. An example of this has been having the opportunity to attend an intermediate excel training course.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

So far my programme feels well organised. I consistently attend classroom delivery sessions monthly and know the dates and information about all of my placements. They have also regularly explained how the apprenticeship is structured and how our EPA will work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

So far BAE as an employer have been incredibly supportive to me as an individual. this has happened by having multiple members of staff that can offer me support throughout my apprenticeship. They also do this by setting regular meetings that are designed to check on your wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The BAE skills coaches are incredibly helpful and supportive with our course work. They are especially responsive when we have questions. The delivery sessions are very engaging.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge provided by the training provider has given me additional background to help me understand my placements better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are quite a lot of opportunities that are encouraged by BAE that you can attend. For example we have a supply chain apprentice newsletter that we can participate in. There is also the opportunity to volunteer also.

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?

Why?
I would recommend them to a friend because I have found BAE systems to be really supportive with lots of opportunities to develop personal and professional skills. I also feel they pay you fairly based on your progress.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
My advice would be to research the company and their values thoroughly before applying. If you do progress into a role then go in with an open mind because they definitely offer the opportunity to get out what you put in.
