Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working with the commercial Finance Team for CPD the main purpose is to help the Commercial Controller (CC’s). Majority of the way you will help them is via setting up and managing accruals for events that are run with in shops or online. This means working with Teams outside of your own such a the Commercial Team

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility a guidance/training though my year at L'Oreal. However this can vary depending on what Financial Intern position you're put in as I know other interns that have had very little support or freedom to develop and impact the business.

I received a lot of support and guidance from my team but was also held accountable for my mistake which was good as it puts you under some pressure to make you perform to a higher standard of work.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

L'Oreal has four main division of which I was placed in CPD (Consumer Products Division) which has a very friendly social feel to it but is also very much work hard play hard as it can be very fast paced at times.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I cannot fault my placement year at L'Oreal. It provided me with the perfect balance of responsibility and fun. It was a truly enjoyable team to work with that were both supportive and pushy to make sure I got the most out of this year.
