Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
As a data custodian, I receive requests for data by the legal team who require evidence for cases within the bank such as fraud. In addition, I perform the monthly reporting statistics to gather all the reports worked on in the month which is then sent off to seniors for analysis.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme as the work is manageable however some of it is repetitive. In terms of my degree, I am enjoying the content so far, my lectures are engaging as I learn something new every time I attend and the material on the BPP website is very useful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to code using SQL which I didn't know how to do before. I have completed multiple courses on data camp and have picked up new command words to use in the work that I do. I have also developed my time management skills in order balance work with studying.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well structured as my study day is every Thursday and I have two lectures - one in the morning and one in the afternoon and I am given time to do pre reading as well which is very helpful. There are also reading weeks to give us time for assessments and projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I believe that I am well supported by my employer as I am given ample training and there is always someone that I can contact if I face an issue. There are also mandatory courses I have to complete which enforce safety and security as being a part of the bank.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive quite a lot of support as I have my own designated coach who is supporting me all throughout the duration of my course and he encourages me to stay on top of my work. BPP have a library where there is a large amount of material I can access to build my knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My qualification helps me perform better in my role as I am exposed a great amount of information about technology which gives me a firm understanding in digital solutions which I may be able to apply to some tasks. Coding is also a part of my qualification which I use during my work activities.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are multiple networking events for apprentices which involve games, food and a lot of socialising, I love attending those events, meeting new people and building the connections I already have. In addition, there is a book club and a choir.
