Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Running projects that improve our processes across the business at a global scale to make them as efficient as possible and give us the chespest cost to serve so that we can be the go-to option for our customers.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme since the business invests a lot of time and money in our development and allows us the autonomy to speak to other key stakeholders and directors in the business to grasp a better understanding of the market we operate in and the operational capabilities of the business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many soft skills like teamworking, communication/networking and problem solving. I have also improved my time management skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There was some hiccups near the beginning of the programme in which we weren't account aligned straight away. However this was then rectified after being raised as an issue.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive as much or as little support as I need. Thats one thing that I really like about my apprenticeship is that we have a lot of autonomy we know that there is always support available but there isn't people chasing us to ask how we are doing. That being said however we do have quartely meetings with people from our 'Early careers' team and a monthly 1-2-1 with our manager going through our performance and objectives.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There's been a few instances when I've needed additional support from my training provider and they always find time to meet with me over teams or send me some additional information via the portal if I need it.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think the qualification does help, however the content is very broad I assume so that it can apply to apprentices in other industries so sometimes I do feel that it isn't as relateble and doesnt help me perform better but overall I think that it is helpful.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I get to go on many extra-curricular events like going to reading and cambridge to see some of the vendors that we work with as well as travel to germany and france to see how our business operates differently out there. We have many networking and social events aswell.

Why?

I think further to my previous point of the amount of time and money that they invest in our development I really think it is a great place for someone to start their career.
