Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The job involves various aspects of investigations such as Conducting interviews by telephone or in person in accordance with all legal and policy requirements, pursuing all reasonable lines of enquiry. Ensuring declarations and changes have been reported at the right time and taking appropriate corrective action if errors are found.  Ensuring quality standards are maintained through adherence to all DWP policy and procedures, and CFCD operational instructions. 
Working collaboratively, effectively and flexibly within a team.
Gathering, verifying, and assessing all available information to submit to the appropriate Decision Maker to enable accurate benefit reassessment and overpayment calculation. 
Maintaining accurate records and retaining relevant evidence, redacting and annotating sensitive material when appropriate.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Although working, I enjoy what I do and the employer provides me with sufficient support and flexibility to be the best I can be.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot about legal aspects of an investigations, processes and procedures. CFCD provides me with many opportunities to learn and to build my confidence.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Programme is well structured with monthly sessions with the provider and sufficient time each week to conduct further research or to conduct practical tasks. I also have an outstanding team leader who ensures time is appropriately divided and who is always there to support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As mentioned before, my team leader is outstanding. They always offer support and assist any time I get stuck. I could not thank them enough for all their efforts and for always being there for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have our monthly sessions as well as a constructive feedback upon submission of each assessment. We are also being offered additional contact if we ever require any further information or clarification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It supports greatly the legal aspect of the job and helps to build knowledge around what my daily job involves.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is a multitude of events being offered. Starting from team events either in person or online, through fun days out to other team bonding activities. The job itself requires one to build connections and network.

Would you recommend Department for Work and Pensions to a friend?
Yes
Why?
DWP is a great place to learn, make new friends and enhance your skills / knowledge. Along with my current role I was also able to explore other interests within fair treatment and anti bullying and harassment networks which I am now part of. I also joined language network where I further enhance second language.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Department for Work and Pensions?
To join civil service - a place where everyone who works hard will find something for themselves. You will be supported during and even after your learning. There are also so many opportunities for future progression too. So don't delay - find your role and apply now!
