Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am put on different clients and teams every few weeks and given different areas of testing for the audit to look at. This means I am constantly learning new skills and how a complete audit comes together. Day to day I could be having calls with a client to request evidence and reconcile differences, forming and completing my own samples and testing on excel work books or comparing organisation's accounts to see what has changed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme and enjoy taking on different tasks each day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have greatly developed my excel and computer skills since starting at Mazars and coming from a school education where the subjects I chose were mainly done on paper. I have been shown how to use different forms of software necessary for audits and given training in Excel (for example on shortcuts) to make work easier.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, we are given a wall planner showing the dates of our BPP courses and exam. This is given at the start of the year so work and holidays can be planned around it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support, as someone who struggled at first I can say I've now settled into the role and received great support from the managers and directors at my office. They reassured me it was an adjustment and I could do it with time and hard work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Great support, given oppurtunity to resit and study days
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
So far I haven't applied much of my qualification to my job role other than basic accounting principles, however I expect I will when I move onto harder areas.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, we often are given the opportunity to go to networking events and given budgets to support this. This helps us meet other junior from different firms.
