Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Depending on the day my task varies. Overall each day I track finance but this usually take up the first half of my week, whilst the second part of my week involves updating the progress of the project in our log and presentation this to the customer alongside creating minutes for the meeting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my program and believe it is helpful to grow in my project management skills.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to take minutes, how to speak with customers and how to track the finances of the project I am currently working on.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Now I am in a project I find I am well supported by my project team. However, there was a lack of clarity when starting my role at Computacenter with not being sure what I should be doing during my day, which resulted in me having to reach out to lots of people in my team to work out what I was supposed to be doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive support with my emotional wellbeing, and currently feel supported in growing my skills, but when I started it all felt quite unclear with the work I was supposed to be doing and didn't feel supported in my work load for the first 3 months.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I feel supported in my role from my university and feel I can reach out whenever I need to.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe it is helpful to understand the terminology/ acronyms that is discussed between customers and my project team. However, there are some modules that feel irrelevant to my current role which does feel harder to then complete those but overall it's okay to gain more knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are plenty and I am now part of the book club.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The apprentice team are incredibly supportive and Computacenter is very good for better gaining knowledge particularly in more technical fields.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
You wont be expected to know anything at the start. It is a process you are taken through to understanding our companies processes and what is expected of you. The start will feel slow and you wont be given too much to do as managers recognize you need time to digest what you learn.
