Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Daily team meeting to discuss progress/ blockages, working on a ticket, meetings within the team/ stakeholders/ analysts, lunch, carrying on with ticket, meetings. A lot of learning as you go, weekly specified training and time to train during work hours.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I'm about 80% enjoying it. There is so much to pick up and learn. I find the prescribed apprenticship learning not as helpful as it could be, however because of this apprenticeship there are a lot of other resources to use to bolster it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've learned loads. I've learned a lot from getting stuck in, asking questions and not being afraid to try and fail, reaching out to the team and there is a large culture of constant learning so a lot of resources are available in-house.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
At the beginning, it wasn't very organised at all but a few months in and there is a lot more structure but also the flexibility that comes with working and studying at the same time. You have the ability to make it what you need it to be
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A LOT! My employer wants to get the best out of us and if that means taking a bit more time there is a lot of understanding there. There is a a big culture of constant learning so everyone is happy to help to explain things and collaborate/ chip in if needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We have monthly progress meetings with a mentor who keeps us track and will also address any difficulties you may be facing. They are great at also ensuring your managers and mentors are doing everything to help you as well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The training provides a wider outlook on software where those in your team may only have the specific knowledge needed for the job role. It enables you to take a step back and create solutions that work more efficiently overall going more in-depth with complex problems
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is a lot of extra-curricular if you want to get involved and so many events to connect into. Different groups around cultures, disabilities, passions, you name it there is a connection point for you whatever your interest may be.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Focus on learning and collaborating and what skills you have outside of the job role. What are your passions and what are your hobbies? Why do you want to do this particular role and are you an inclusive and open individual? How do you cope in a group?
