Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Preparing and designing for network implementations or changes, continuous learning guided by mentor or self study, maintaining the network and troubleshooting issues if they arise, sometimes dealing with customers, many interactions with people in the office as well as virtually in other offices.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme, I enjoy the work that I do with BT in the week as it gives me usable workplace skills to develop for my future as well as being able to learn with and from the people I am surrounded by, adding to the work that I do within the university

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learned about creating bootstraps for devices, logging into devices and making alterations and show commands, I have developed my interpersonal skills, presentation skills and negotiation skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is relatively well organised, with the work I do in the workplace aiming to run parallel with the work that I am doing in the university aspect in order to develop and practice my learning even further.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I recieve a lot of support from the employer, with line managers and a new practice in the workplace being developed to help us develop and succeed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I recieve a lot of support from the employer, with line managers and a new practice in the workplace being developed to help us develop and succeed with the university work, priortising the learning over the workplace work
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think there are particular modules that help me to perform better in my role, these are the modules that directly relate to the work I am doing such as QoS over converged networks, which allow me to practice my networking skills. However I feel there are some modules that are not directly related that have no development for me in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a lot of social activities within BT, and I try to get involved in as many as possible to build my network and make the work life even more enjoyable.
