Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working in the Networks HR team, supporting HRBPs and working with CoEs, and wider HR to provide operational and strategic HR support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Overall, I have enjoyed it. There have been times where it has been tough to manage alongside a full time role as it is a workplace apprenticeship but my manager has always been supportive

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have learned lots about HR as a wider profession, as my role before I started the CIPD was based on taking calls from employees to advise on HR issues, so the strategic side of HR I was not very aware of or confident in, and I have since starting the CIPD now landed this new role. I have learned about HR behaviours, communication, principles of analytics and more which all help me in this role

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well. Learning activities well laid out in Bud, with assessments evenly spread through the year
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots. Plenty of time off the job to do my apprenticeship work, and manager joining 12 week review calls with my training provider
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lots, the coaching calls are really good and I can also reach out to my skills coach outside of these calls if I need to
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Really well, its taught me about the wider HR profession in ways I may not have got just from working, and has made my skills more well rounded
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there is a social network for the Bristol office, and there are various sporting teams
