Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am working at Belfast managed service desk. This involves processing customer request and progressing tickets to ensure they are done within the service level agreements. I rotate team every six months to get a good scope of the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I definitely enjoy working and learning at the same time. It's a great opportunity to develop skills and earn a qualification while building skills in the workplace.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've developed my problem solving skills, my communication skills and my analysis skills.

Structure and Support

4/5
It is well structed in that i get to rotate teams every six months. This allows me to understand different teams and work out what I like and don't like.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We have 1-2-1 meetings with our manager each week to see how we are getting on. They are also good for letting us do tech work during work hours if we have particularly a lot to do.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They do offer 1-2-1's if we are struggling, however we don't receive much support from our assigned assessor who we are meant to meet with regularly.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It definitely helps me to understand the more technical aspects of the role. It provides more context and understanding to the things im doing in work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there is the future careers network that allows us to get involved in charity work to raise money as a team for thee selected charity of choice. It also allows us to grow our network outside of Belfast.
