Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day-to-day basis I review documents, attend client meetings, conduct research, and proof-read articles and reports. I also attend team meetings and complete a mixture of online and in-person training.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. There is lots of support to help me succeed and perform at my best. It is great going into the office and getting to know and work with my team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The programme is a great learning experience. I am building my technical knowledge and continually developing a range of soft skills including communication, time management and team work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well organised. There is an extensive induction programme. The firm and training provider provide detailed information as to when the key milestones of the apprenticeship and ACA qualification are (e.g., exams, study leave days).
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The induction programme is very comprehensive, both in the months leading up to and upon your start date, so you can get to know your cohort and find out more detail about the firm and specifics of your role, qualification and programme. You are also assigned a buddy and a people manager, and there is a dedicated early careers development team who are readily available to answer queries and provide guidance and support. The firm also provides study leave to help with exam preparation.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider supports apprentices in a number of ways. In relation to studying for exams, they provide course notes, online video resources and access to an online forum where you can ask tutors questions. All apprentices also have regular video calls with the training provider where they check in to see how you are getting on, identify any areas for support, and help with target-setting for ongoing development.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification provides me with technical knowledge, including regulatory and legal requirements, which I apply when completing work on client projects. Also completing the qualification is helping me to develop my organisation and time management skills to balance work, study and other commitments. These are invaluable skills when it comes to my role as I need to balance multiple tasks such as working on client projects, attending meetings and completing training.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is a great range of clubs, internal networks and firm-wide initiatives that you can get involved in. In terms of social activities, teams organise socials, away days and volunteering days. Since starting my apprenticeship, I’ve also had the opportunity to attend professional networking events which has provided me insight into the wider industry and an opportunity to speak to others in the industry.
