Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an apprentice in the Executive Assistant team, so my role includes travel bookings, boardroom bookings, taking meeting minutes and I have recently done a few travel system training sessions.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme as I have learnt a lot about how businesses work and how different teams do different things. I get invited to certain partner meetings and I get experience in different sectors.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained confidence in speaking to large groups and competence in meeting bookings and working out diaries.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is really well structured. I have 4 days of work and one day as a study day and it really splits my time up well. Our apprenticeship manager is really supportive and makes sure we feel comfortable in our roles.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my manager and we speak daily.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider can be very hit and miss. I don't receive a lot of support from my coach and sometimes don't get set my modules on time. I send my work to be marked and don't receive it back for sometimes a few weeks.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many social activities at my work, we have Christmas parties and team social away days every year.
