Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am currently working in the upstream team and managing my own supplier portfolio. Each day I manage my daily KPIs and communicate with each supplier by email, teams and through phone calls. I am also trained to cover each MRPC in my team, therefore learning new skills and different ways to manage supply chain.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy working in supply chain due to the fast-paced nature and numerous pathways available. Whilst it can prove difficult, I am widely supported by an experienced team, who are always willing to share their expertise.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills since beginning my apprenticeship, such as professional skills e.g. phone/email etiquette and public speaking. Also, I have been given the opportunity to join the apprentice committee and STEM ambassador network, expanding my networking skills and overall confidence. Specific to my role, I have gained Excel skills and can now create my own automated spreadsheets!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There isn't yet a set structure for my journey here at Schneider Electric, however I am aware that I can ask my manager for different experiences and skills in departments of supply chain and this would be considered.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
You are widely supported by your team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have quarterly meetings with my skills coach at university where myself and my manager can discuss what has gone well so far and areas of improvement. This is a great time to reach out if struggling, but also acts as an opportunity to receive praise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I haven't been in my role for very long but the 3 assignments I have completed so far are directly involved with my work at Schneider Electric. My assignments have also forced me to network with different departments and push myself to gain new connections.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am involved in the Apprentice Committee and the STEM Ambassador Network. In the Apprentice Committee, I am a Site Lead - this has allowed me to demonstrate project management skills and effective communication. This is also a great time to build connections and work with people you wouldn't otherwise. In the STEM network, I am promoting a career within manufacturing and logistics with likeminded people - a great opportunity to share my journey so far.

Yes
Why?
It is a great company that rewards its people and gives back.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
I would advise people to gain different experiences outside of their school, college or university and link this to different skills required from Schneider Electric.
