Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The daily tasks and work within the team I enjoy however the university side of things can be difficult at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As an apprentice I have learnt a range of technical and non-technical skills from writing busines proposals, talking to third party clients, understanding the Cloud, writing code in different languages and more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is somewhat structured as the university aligns well within the programme and the 8 month rotations match up well up until our final year however its difficult to contact representatives internally for degree apprenticeships with issues.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I get a huge amount of support from my manager and team. They are very flexible and allow me extra days for university if I need. They also join my university calls and support me with any issues I have within university
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Our training provider appoints a supervisor who has bi monthly calls with us and our manager to ensure everything is up to date however they don't seem to make any changes from the feedback they request for improvement.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
During my final year, the pathway system allows you to pick an area that best suits the team and role you are in, I found this quite beneficial at times.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of social activities planned in and outside of work. Symposiums and poster sessions for early talent are a great way to network and show off the work you have been doing too. We also volunteer for careers fairs throughout the year and have apprentice volunteering days every year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
Yes
Why?
AstraZeneca is a great place to work. The culture and community is clear within offices and teams. Everyone is willing to help and learn to ensure we met our goals. The patients come first so we are always looking for ways that work will impact patients in the long run, whether you are in IT or in the labs.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
It is important to show your character and personality, as well as ensuring you align to AstraZenecas goals and beliefs. This will help you and the interviewer understand if you are a good match for the company. Be confident in the interview and show your interest through well thought out questions.
