Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Project Management Office (PMO) working as a Project Support Officer, dealing with governance relating to projects including risks, planning and reporting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy my programme and how varied it has been. Applying theory to my workplace and role has ensured that the training has been embedded and understood. Modules are clearly woven throughout the duration of the apprenticeship rather than in silo, which has aided this learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Project Management was new to me when joining almost a year ago. Now understand risks, business case, finances, governance, stakeholder engagement, planning and quality relating to project management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme has been broken down into bite sized chunks, varied between theory, research, live sessions and case studies. Recap of topics throughout the programme has embedded learning and understanding continuously. Having a live session approximately every month has been manageable.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has been excellent ensuring that I have been provided with experience to embed my understanding and gain knowledge into the full breadth of project management. I have been fortunate to work within a very supportive team, proving access to resources and individuals as necessary.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have regular meetings with my training provider and have the opportunity to reach out for support when needed. Regular deadlines of submissions of work helps to keep my learning and study on track. I also receive detailed feedback on my studies too, which aids my development.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Undertaking my apprenticeship has provided opportunities in projects that I probably would not have experienced so quickly in a standard job role. The learning from my apprenticeship has encouraged research into my workplace through undertaking case studies and a desire to know more. Understanding more about projects has helped me to perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are various workplace extra curricular activities to get involved in at my place of work: social, sports, networking events, disability groups. I have also been involved in community and charity work as part of my working role, which I have enjoyed.
