Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Continuous learning about technologies to be a positive impact to the business. Right now I am coming to the office and performing day-to-day tasks, which can be monitoring network infrastructure or making sure devices are compliant, answering customer's queries and improving their network infrastructure, by adding and removing features.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It is hard to manage work, with university and at the same time also personal certification which is required in the workplace, overall the programme is enjoyable but stressful at the same time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Indeed I did learn new skills during my time in the company. Thanks to new technologies being deployed and the course at the universities, I have enhanced and learned new skills, alongside theories and procedures.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
We have a precise structure, Monday for self-learning, Tuesday to Thursday for work and Friday for university, the structure is there but sometimes is hard to follow it as there might be the need to switch priorities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer is very helpful and understandable, is definitely good to know that there is someone that can help you with stuff if you are under pressure.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The support from the training provider is there, however, sometimes the structure of modules is different from other modules, which it makes it confusing from time to time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Maybe a better focus in Networking would have assisted me more, however, is good to know the practices and procedures used in a business environment. Even if my role is more technical.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Networking events, volunteering, meeting with providers

Yes

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
Look for the role you are interested with and once you have tried it you can change internally if you fancy learning new skills.
