Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Supporting relationship managers with day to day tasks such as admin. I also go on face to face visits with managers to, these meetings allow us to identify lending and product needs. I also book these meetings in conducting calls most week to customerts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm enjoying my program at the moment. I keep getting responsibilities added to my plate, which through my learning I feel prepared for. I enjoy the hybrid element of my role to, I get equal amounts of work done at home and in the office.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learned alot of new skills, I entered this job role with no banking experience. Everything I've come across day to day has been new to me. I had a decent knowledge of mathematics but now I am consolidating this daily.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There have been a few teething problems with BPP. Sometimes links for zooms are not there and not live. My coach has been great so far but has recently changed, I'm hoping these high standards continue.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I am allocated 1 day per week to do my apprenticeship work. I am allowed ample time to complete my work. There is an overlap between apprentice work and employee work, so I get inadvertent help aswell.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My coach so far has been really good, I have however just switched to a new one. We have a person who delivers our webinars who is very helpful, she provides assignment specific support from her. Between the two coaches so far there has been ample support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the moment there is not alot of crossover between my apprentice work and the specificities of my job. However the apprenticeship covers more generic bank wide things, which is a good thing to be told of these wider regulatory things.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are networking activities available at other offices around an hour away from mine. However we have a team meeting every week in our office where we are able to meet and collaborate.

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are very flexible and put a real emphasis on colleague wellbeing. I have a very strong support network both within my team and outside of it, I am able to call on any number of colleagues to solve any queries I may have.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
There was alot of scenario based questions, however using common sense I was able to navigate these. Nobody expects you to know everything so support is very forthcoming. This job is more about knowing where to look for answers as opposed to knowing them.
