Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Holing the site in the GMs absence. Serving Guests & managing feedback. Ensuring health & safety and food safety compliance. Mentoring, training, induction and leading Team members. Reducing waste. Protecting profit and stock. Counting, ordering and accepting deliveries of stock. Ordering consumables. Arranging and ensuring maintenance for site equipment. Any other duties as required.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Understanding legislation, licensing laws and organisational processes better. Greater detail of leadership behaviours, team engagement and delivering team feedback. Encouragement to learn more about the entire organisation.

I am quite independent so I didn’t want too much help from my employer, however on the occasions I did ask for support, it was given quickly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had 2 learning coaches, both Paul & Iliana were great
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It did give me areas to improve & where I could find additional information, if I wanted it.
I am more theoretically confident in the industry requirements now.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells and Butlers?
Attitude is everything. We can show you what we do (operationally) but you have to want to do it. Be prepared to work hard but we’ll do it together & have fun along the way.
