Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in the audit department, so my day to day can vary between being in the office, a client site or working from home. The role of an auditor involves reviewing a company's financial statements for fraud or error.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've enjoyed the programme and the day to day role I joined in. At Forvis Mazars are given opportunities to progress and work on new clients throughout which keeps the day to day job interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Throughout my apprenticeship I have developed both my teamworking and communication skills. This is all our jobs are worked on it teams and we are given responsibility to talk to and communicate with clients right from the start

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme has a clear progression structure, both for when you will sit different exams and when you can expect to progress up to higher grades.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Throughout the programme we receive plenty of support. When joining we are allocated a buddy who is a similar grade to help with questions, but there is also your line manager and early careers team available for support.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We were able to contact our training provider throughout the qualification for help if we needed and get a response to any questions quite quickly after asking

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The things I have learnt through studying for the ACA have helped me in my day to day job as when new things come up I've already leant about them at college.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of social events to get involved with. We have a group of people who organise regular events for us outside of work, recently these have included laser quest and a paint and sip night
