Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My Role as a Commercial intern at loreal consist of, reporting on weekly sales and competitor activity to my lie manager, we then use this information to report to the rest of the business. I am also fully responsible for all new Launches for retailers, launch events, communicating between the buyers and the businesses, forecasting and product allocations to stores based on their weigh of business
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
once I was fully settled and comfortable in my role, i asked for more responsibility and this also allowed to me to lead on many projects and even coach/ train others

In my role I have learned many new skills through training, and day to day tasks, I have also spent any free time upskilling myself which shows initiative and always makes me feel one step ahead. my skills include, excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft teams skills, some personable skills I have developed are, communication skills, time management and organisation

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
throughout my year at loreal, i worked closely with my line manager, we had weekly 1 to 1 sessions in which we went though my weekly tasks, as well as helping me prioritise my busy schedule my manager always made time to sit down and explain specific tasks if I was ever unsure. the wider team was also very helpful in answering any general questions I had

Be Vocal about your time on the placement, the year will fly by! if your struggling reach out to your manager they are there to make the placement the right fit for you and your skills, also be sure to tell your manager what projects you enjoy doing and they will do their best to fit this within your role
