Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a quality engineer I am tasked with writing automated test scripts for new microservices and APIs developed in house. I try to follow the end user journey to understand potential success outcomes as well as what blockers they may face.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I loved my apprenticeship programme. I saw from the start that I would be gaining valuable skills and my confidence in this area has improved massively!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Before I began this apprenticeship I had ZERO prior knowledge in coding, software testing and even working in an office! However I now work independently to write automated test scripts using multiple coding languages.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It was really well organised. I followed a pathway to learn fundamentals, coding and then the certified theory of software testing - gaining valuable qualifications on the way!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager and peers in my platform are brilliant. I get more than enough support but also freedom to develop myself further and take on extra 'projects' on top of my normal daily work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My FireBrand mentor was great and a big help when I needed to reach out however I managed to own my apprenticeship journey and did not feel the need to ever have to reach out for support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has massively helped as I have been able to bring my learnings into my daily role to both benefit me and the business.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there is a selection of all sorts events to suit everybody's interest.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Easily the best employer I have worked for. I feel valued and given the tools to really drive my career progression.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Definitely apply, don't doubt it! For the application journey, I would suggest to just be yourself in the process. Do not try to hit 'buzzwords' to seem like you fit the part.
