Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a Digital Apprentice at AstraZeneca, you spend your days rotating through various areas within UKOps. Your primary focus is on the deployment of digital products and the digitisation of processes. Utilising low-code/no-code solutions like Microsoft Power Suite and Tulip, you analyse existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop digital solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implementing and testing digital products, and ensuring smooth integration into daily operations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
As a Digital Apprentice at AstraZeneca, I enjoy my program to the extent that it offers a dynamic and engaging work environment, allowing me to work with digital platforms and participate in meaningful projects. The opportunity to rotate through various teams provides a diversified learning experience and exposes me to different aspects of digital transformation. The ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments and see the tangible impact of your efforts can be particularly rewarding. Additionally, developing both technical and interpersonal skills and contributing to innovative solutions fosters a sense of accomplishment and personal growth.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've developed skills in low-code/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Suite and Tulip, allowing me to streamline processes and deploy applications efficiently. Enhanced problem-solving and project management abilities enable me to tackle inefficiencies and manage digital projects effectively. Improved communication helps me convey technical concepts to diverse teams, while critical thinking aligns business needs with digital solutions. Additionally, my adaptability lets me quickly learn new technologies, and collaboration across teams has strengthened my networking skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship is well structured with rotations every 8 months round the different areas of the PET. Clear learning objectives and working on meaningful projects all by being supported by my line manager, mentor, buddy and task manager.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I receive from my employer is great through my line manager, mentor, buddy and the apprenticeship network.
In my day-to-day role I benefit from being part of a collaborative environment where team members are available to offer assistance and share knowledge. Regular catch-ups and feedback sessions ensure I'm on track with my learning objectives, further supporting my professional growth throughout the program.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive alot of support working towards my degree, when there are modules that perhaps do not correlate directly to my day-to-day role my team and support network are more than happy to direct me to someone in that area with the relevant expertise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Modules like Project Management and Business & Change Management help alot in my role since when it comes to deploying new digital products and working with a diverse group of people, change management is a big part of my role to ensure adoption and a positive roll-out.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The apprenticeship network hosts plenty of social events outside of work aswell as inside of work. I am also part of the Padel Group! During Christmas I also took part in a Wreath Making Workshop that was super enjoyable.
