Degree Apprentice at CBRE following the commercial pathway towards becoming an RICS Chartered Surveyor. During my time as an Apprentice, I gained experience in several service lines, including the Lease Advisory team, Office, Retail and Industrial and Logistics Agency teams, and the Fund Valuation team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed being an Apprentice at CBRE. The business genuinely values its Next Generation talent, spearheaded by the passion of our CEO, Ciaran Bird. I've had access to significant support and opportunities to push myself/develop my career. From speaking to Apprentices throughout the industry, in my opinion CBRE are leading the way with the offering they provide.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed core maths, English, communication, and IT skills through a combination of my workplace and university experience.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured with opportunity to rotate between teams annually to gain relevant experience, whilst considering the interests of Apprentices in the team/sector. The programme provides regular structured training which is run both online and in-person, alongside many social/networking events to attend throughout the year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received substantial support from my employer. The culture at CBRE is the best thing about the business, which may sound like a cliché but I genuinely believe this to be true. In my experience, everyone has found the time to offer support, regardless of their seniority, and there are several networks to participate for personal/additional support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received substantial support. When writing uni assignments, I would often ask colleagues for help/advice and was never turned away.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The degree is fundamental to the role, as you are taught the knowledge/content which underpins the profession.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are significant extra-curricular activities, again, one of the business' strengths.

The culture is also outstanding, people always have time for you, no matter their seniority and the business genuinely values its people.

Demonstrate a strong work ethic and an eager attitude to learn and you will go far.
