Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working for L'Oréal Professionnel in the Indirect Marketing Team I regularly networked with the wider team to provide them physical in store marketing assets to provide for their accounts stores across the UK. This included panels for Free Standing Display Units, Shelf Barkers to go alongside our products, and the creations of Blogs and Cheat Sheets to help educate both store staff and hairdressers and salon owners.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Definitely. Throughout the year as you get more comfortable in your role, the more responsibility you are given. Some of my responsibilities included providing approximately 260 packs of barkers to be available to order for our various accounts, and also organising the send-out for over 250 store kits to different wholesale store across the United Kingdom.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
This internship helped me develop a plethora of new and existing skills. Time Management and organisational skills were key for me to succeed in my role with the amount of multi-tasking that is required. Communication skills are invaluable in any job and are very transferable. There is a need to work independently which will allow you try courses and learn skills on platforms such as Excel, Office and PowerPoint.

Since I started my internship, I had regular meetings with my manager to help me manage all my tasks I had up and coming, as well as additional meetings when required. My manager was amazing! Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal
L'Oréal will help you learn so much about who you really are. Be true to who you are and L'Oréal will accept you for who you are. As long as you show a willingness to learn from your team and manager and you will reap the rewards. Remain honest with your manager/team as this will allow them to offer help when needed, after all, they work their for a reason, they're the experts! Make sure you make the most of this opportunity, believe me it flies past! Most importantly, network and make friends with people, it'll never hurt to know people in the right places in the future...
