Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Involvement in deal projects, financial analysis, pitch research and writing. Contributions to team meetings and presentations and ad-hoc research requests. Essentially treated like a 'normal' colleague but with one day a week allocated to study.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Honestly I love it. Treated like an adult and not just given the tasks nobody likes. Given areas of responsibility to demonstrate goals I have set and welcomed in. Study is interesting as well and pushing learning boundaries.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Financial analysis, stakeholder management and development of understanding financial statements. IT skills largely overlooked but so important and something you naturally pick up.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Well set up in advance and plenty of notice given if timings have to change for whatever reason.
Some issues with BPP access on their website but they are quick to react.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Plenty - expectation from seniors to make use of my 1 day a week study. They take an interest in how its going despite it not being 'relevant' to their day to day tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Training provider have provided additional support through coaches and regular touch points.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Focusing on ethics first highlights importance of adhering to rules set in place for the industry. It's more theory work than practical but it's given plenty of food for thought.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes. Team organises stuff independently to wider company. Sports teams, social activities, pop-up one offs are present at the office. Networking events in place and encouraged to attend.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Company working hard to excel in its field. So many different teams meaning you can work in whatever aspect you'd like to explore.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Personality and potential is valued over experience. Don't force a 'finance bro' approach as everyone is just the polar opposite and the Bank likes character.
