Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
a mixture of practical lab work as well as analysis and presentations etc
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my day to day work and the projects that I'm involved in and am very comfortable within my team. The university side of the apprenticeship is fairly relevant to my role and well balanced with the practical element

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned lots of new lab techniques and used new instruments, as well as developing my soft skills - e.g. teamwork and organisation

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The university side is well organised, however there are occasionally last minute social events during work time. The job side is well structured
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is lots of support provided within my own team and by older/previous apprentices, however there is less support in regards to communication between the university and company and opportunities after the apprenticeship
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
This is somewhat dependent on the lecture, however I find it largely supportive in terms of regular office hours and quick replies to emails etc
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Lots of the content is relevant to my role and helps expand my theoretic knowledge, however I also feel that the less relevant content is helpful for me to get a broader perspective and develop my skills outside of my role - however some modules lack relevance completely
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
there are lots of employee resource groups available, both specific to apprentices as well as more general ones open to any employees, as well as development days, volunteering days etc
