Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Throughout my apprenticeship at AstraZeneca I have done different placements across site such as sterile manufacturing, warehouse distribution and environmental assurance of a sterile plant. On a day-to-day basis you will gain immense experience working aseptically towards creating a sterile pharmaceutical drug.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained an aseptic license meaning i can work aseptically on a sterile pharmaceutical plant. I have gained immense networking skills whilst being at AZ allowing me to create great networks throughout the company and i have become more confident whilst working here.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

AstraZeneca is a very organised business and since i started everything has always been structured to ensure my learning is always prioritised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have consistent 1-2-1s with my managers to make sure i have support and to ensure i can progress my learning further during my apprenticeship. They provide immense support for both work and my well-being.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have always been given support from my training provider if and when i need it, i have multiple points of contact and they always have time to sit through any concerns i may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

They have changed the training provider for the next years apprenticeship as the course i do at the moment doesnt align perfectly with my role so it is hard to use some of the skills in work but it still allows me to gain knowledge around the company i work for. I have received feedback from the apprentices that the new course fully aligns with what they do at work and that it benefits their work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are always extra curricular activities that you can get involved with ranging from sports teams to Mental health groups, networking groups and young professional courses. I was apart of the apprentice mental health and wellbeing group ensuring support between training providers and apprentices but due to shift work i wasnt able to continue.

AstraZeneca is like a community, there is always support wherever you decide to work on site. Its a great place to work and there are so many pathways you can take to further your career.
