Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently I am working on front end studies for future projects. This involves defining scope, budget and schedule, looking at high-level risks and discussing next steps. I also work with more senior project managers who assign work packages that I look after for the duration of the project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme. I am constantly given opportunities to further my development. I am able to work with my line manager to decide which tasks would be most beneficial and provide a challenge.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am constantly learning and developing new skills. The biggest one being my confidence. I am provided a safe space to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I am also developing technical skills such as reading drawings. This is beneficial to my work as I am able to understand the language used in meetings and provide input.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well organised. I feel I know what my next steps are at all times.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have monthly 1:1 meetings with my line manager to discuss my development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive good support from my training provider. They are able to answer questions regarding lecture material, however, I feel they are let down by their lack of knowledge around the addition parts of the apprenticeship (off the job hours, portfolio of evidence).
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel my qualification aligns closely with the work I complete. I am able to put the theory into practice which massively help me to understand it.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are so many extra curricular activities, such as social events, networking events and learning opportunities! Sometimes, you have to look to find them as they aren't all advertised to all apprentices.

Why?
The support I receive is amazing, I believe I have massively developed as a person since starting this apprenticeship! It really is a great place to work and I feel very fortunate to be completing my apprenticeship here.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
Make sure you can find examples of how you align to AstraZeneca's values as these are the core of the organisation! I think it is equally important to be yourself! You want to make sure this is the right opportunity for you!
