Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is electrical maintenance and this means that I will test, inspect, isolate and repair existing circuits. On a day to day basis I complete projects such as wiring lighting circuits or bending and cutting metal and PVC conduit. I also work with trunking and cable trays.

4/5
I enjoy the program a lot as I am learning a plethora of new skills which i can put into practice easily within the workshop or eventually when I go on site.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned many new skills during my time here such as how to terminate wires and wire distribution boards. I have also learned how to cut and bend metal and PVC conduit or simply strip wires. I have learned how to use the testing kits such as multi-meters multifunctional tester, proving units and voltage indicators.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The program is quite well organised as I complete tasks one by one which teach me skills that I need for future tasks and they are enjoyable. Having college one day a week also works quite well and the way it is structured is very good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive many benefits and support methods that are provided to me to be used whenever I feel I need it. There is also a pastoral within the workshop that I can go talk to if I am concerned with something.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive enough help from them whenever i need it as if i am stuck on a problem i feel i can go to them for support and help with getting over it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel the qualification makes me seem more competent in my job and work on jobs confidently as I know what I am doing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I'm unsure I think there might be.
