Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I help the manufacturing engineers solve problems that come to us from the workshop about the processes we use.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It it is a difficult programme, especially due to the nature of the company, so you need to make sure you can be flexible and adjust to the different admin processes we use. I enjoy all the learning and the new information, but switching into a full time job schedule has been difficult and stressful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt better socialising and people management skills, as well as time management. I have also learnt a lot about manufacturing techniques and have gotten some experience in machining.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Given the amount of apprentices the company takes on the staff that manage apprentices have a lot of work. I am not certain on what my next steps are a lot of the time, but have trust in the staff managing me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer, the staff are all very friendly and will help a lot. There is good mental health support from the skills academy staff, and no judgement on whatever challenge you have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They teach us the content, but it does not feel like a degree level education currently.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I don't have much background in engineering, so the qualification really helps me understand the basics of the engineering that is happening around me as going in at the beginning I felt very out of my depth from a technical knowledge perspective.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a lot of opportunities for networking within the company, and there is an easy to access events calender.
