Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role I have to scan patients documents onto the system after they've been seen in clinic, I type letters for the consultants and registrars, I post up letters to send out to patients/GP's, I take phone calls and deal with patient queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy coming to work because I get along with everyone, I enjoy learning new skills and developing further, I am confident in the work that I do, I get on with my tutor and she has helped support me

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship I have learnt and developed so many new skills, I have grown so much in confidence and have taken myself out of my comfort zone. I have learnt a wide range of medical terminology, customer service skills and how to deal with patients.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My Program is structured to enable good communication between me and my tutor, if I have any questions I know I can email her and she will provide me with support, provide correct information .
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Manager has been there to support me, she listens to me and helps me achieve my goals.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor did provide me with websites and past papers when I was studying for my Maths and English, she has provided me with a criteria/check list and a previous model to help guide me with my EPA.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My tutor pushed for me to deal with patients over the phone to gain experience of customer service, since this I have grown in confidence and deal with calls everyday.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not that I know of but there are courses to help with medical terminology
