I have really enjoyed my placements so far and they have all provided different experiences and allowed me to develop what i enjoy and try new things

there has been a vast amaount of opportunities to develop existing skills as well as learn new ones too.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

there has been a lack of solid information provided through the early careers team, however then have endeavoured to do the best they can to support us. this could be improved upon in the future through listening to apprentice feedback in relation to delivery structure and EPA guidance
How much support do you receive from your employer?

there is a large amount of support within the business and in placements which is excellent for settling into roles and learning new skills/roles. within early careers you are able to get an insight and overview of the course but the finer detail isn't always available which is critical when approaching EPA time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

we have had minimal input from our exam board at this point in our apprenticeship, due to a lack of communication between Early careers team and the exam board themselves. this needs to be improved upon so that we are able to clearly understand what we are going to be assessed on, how it is going to be assessed, and when it is going to be done and the time frame.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

the topics and information that we cover can be extremely useful to the aerospace logistics/manufacturing/procuring world, however other elements of the course are not directly relevant such as food safety, but this is understandable due to it being a generalised standard. if another more relevant course was available this would be a more beneficial consideration.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are loads to get stuck in with. this includes unique business engagement opportunities, community engagements opportunities, STEM ambassador activities, Learning opportunities, mentoring/mentee opportunities amongst many others.

Why?
the vast variety of roles available and opportunities is second to none, and there is always support when needed. the early careers team are supportive and the business are able to provide anything that is needed.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
navigate the company site for our mission vision and value statements as they form a part of the application process, as well as the behaviours of the business. but most importantly, just be yourself and try to seel yourself to the interviewers when you get to that stage. do not be disheartened if you aren't accepted the first time, rather think of it as an opportunity to get better and try again. i know people who have tried many times over.
