Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Auditing client accounts. Involves testing clients revenue, payroll etc and ensuring the evidence provided from the client is accurate.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Working on the same engagement for long periods can be enjoyable as you build relationships with the client and your team. It can also be rewarding to see your work progress throughout the audit and having your own input seen throughout the audit.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
You spend a lot of time in excel in this role, learning new formulas to manipulate the data provided. PwC also use new technologies such as Alteryx to help us manipulate data and make our workload more manageable. Communication skills also develop as you spend time speaking to the client and articulating what you require from them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well organised as you spend time at university learning about things specific to the work you do on placement, and the course helps you work towards your ICAEW qualification earlier than if you pursued the qualification after university.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
You have multiple people to reach out to if struggling, such as your team, career coach and flying start champions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
As the exams are held in university, most of the support comes from your tutors, and when working at PwC you mainly get support from your team/career coach.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification helps massively as it is completely tailored to the job you will enter once you start full time
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, PwC have both team socials and flying start socials so there is plenty to get involved in
