Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Studying towards the ACA qualification while completing audit work on a variety of clients from FTSE 100 to small sole traders.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The work experience itself is highly enjoyable and I would rate it even higher than that if the exams you have to take weren't so difficult at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed advanced skills in excel and using other PwC systems, as well as soft skills such as communication, business acumen and customer service. Problem solving is also at the heart of this job.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
There is a very clear-cut structure which I was made aware of from the very start. It is easy to see where your progression will next lead.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
PwC has supported me throughout my degree as well as on work placement. I always had someone to reach out to in terms of seniors, but it was also easy to make friends who have been nothing short of proactive and helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The university takes a very hands-on approach in teaching the accredited modules, however, I felt much less supported when taking other modules which I also needed to complete my degree. PwC has been proactive in correcting this when complaints were made.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has proved to be really helpful when I came across problems on an audit engagement. It is very useful to have background knowledge of financial statements and how they operate + IFRS standards before going in - otherwise I'd be lost!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of social events organised (usually there is something going on every week!) and they are all varied - from spin classes/running clubs to casual drinks to arcade game days to black tie events... always plenty of chances to socialise.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
PwC has pushed me way ahead of my peers on similar degrees. Work experience and training here is just truly on another level.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I would say make sure you are ready to live and breathe PwC as we have a very strong culture. We always focus on putting our Team First, Taking Pride in our work and Challenging and Being Open to Challenge which is what brings us all so close together.
