Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is in threat intelligence and as a team we monitor mailboxes to check for smishing/vishing campaigns, looking at third party reports We work to keep customers money safe by assessing tactical and strategic fraud intelligence obtained from a number of sources and our intelligence network. We work with relevant teams across the Bank and customers to action and/or provide them with a greater understanding of the threat landscape. This is across all brands and franchises.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love the Programme and have already recommended the course to everyone in the branch I previously worked in, I know two people have applied for the years Programme. Was not even sure originally if I wanted to apply to be an apprentice as I'm over 30 and all my qualifications are in a totally non related subject but soo glad I did

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Leant so much in a shirt period of time, from the SQA side I have learnt lots about cyber security in general and from working in my team I have learnt why we do certain process, Also done extra learning on 'writing skills' just to improve on day to day writing

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is the first year of this course so for that reasoning I think it has been really well organized. There where a few suggestions about getting more notice for completing course work but a lot of people sent that in during the SQA survey and the feedback got listened to and now we get a lot of notice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
ALOT !, My whole team is very supporting, from taking time out there day to help me when I am stuck, to encouraging learning and always giving plenty of time to get my course work without having to stress. I have been lucky with my team and think that is why I so highly recommend the apprentice program to everyone
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
In the cyber course we had Emily for level 6 and have Russell for level 8 and both of them are very approachable and knowledgeable. They have an amazing way of explaining each topic and if your stuck/ confused there is no judgement and will take the time 1 to 1 if needed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has helped a lot as know what the team are talking about without having to ask questions constantly. It has helped as well because in some cases I'm learning a different way than what has been passed onto and taught to everyone else meaning we find the strengths and weakness for both methods.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
In one of my previous answers I mentioned that I have done extra learning on workday to improve writing skills, there are so many courses we can do from understanding mental health to all sorts of learning, There are groups you can join as well what discuss interests to groups to share pictures of pets

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Be yourself, If you are being hired it is because they like you. What makes the team work so well is because we are encouraged to bring our own ideas in
