Lots of skills to learn due to the variety and range of tasks, also given the chance to develop your academic ability through training courses and seminars! Great chance to improve both your soft and hard skills e.g. Confidence, critical thinking, problem solving, design and creativity, market research, analytics and data science

Lots of support and guidance - the team are super friendly and always willing to help. I was encouraged by everyone to develop my skill set as much as possible, and always felt comfortable with asking for help whether that be asking for specific help with a task or discussing possible career paths.

Its a pretty close team, and everyone is very friendly - a very relaxed atmosphere. Most people have been here for a while so everyone knows each other very well.

I really enjoyed my placement - it gave me a chance to massively grow my CV. I have done countless shadowing days with other teams throughout the Met office, along with lots of training courses and science seminars. I have also been given excellent networking opportunities! I would mention that the placement is by yourself in the team, so you do have to go out of your way to find other placement students / social opportunities.
