Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a devops engineer apprentice working in a team called LMA (logging monitoring alerting) we sit in the platform tech directory and mainly work with internal customers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my job, my team looks after me well and the whole met office creates a good working environment. I also like my college side learning for my qualification

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have gained lots of new skills since starting my role, most significantly my understanding and knowledge on cloud computing software's like AWS has increased vastly

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well structure allowing me one day a week as my study day to work towards my qualifications and 4 days a week work at the MO with my team. this allows a balance of time and means I never feel I am falling behind.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The Met Office are massively supportive to me, from my team who I work with day to day who are understanding of my other responsibilities to my learning aswell as the general atmosphere at the MO where I feel safe to voice any concerns I have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
QA is my training provider and they allow me lots of support through their online learning platform. If i have any questions or queries they get back to me quickly and helpfully.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My learning through QA gives me a good generalised view of different skills and fields which can be applied more directly into my role at work. Often my work in my role dives far deeper than what we learn in QA but QA helps to build that foundation of knowledge
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are loads of activities to get involved with at the office. I have taken part in tours and helping out with student days but that is barely scratching the surface. there are sports teams and societies that I have yet to get involved with but seem like amazing opportunities.
